Amanda Maddox was born Amanda Jo Schenkel to Dan and Linda Schenkel on November 29, 1976. She was born in Yankton, SD but lived in Utica, SD (population 100). She has three younger siblings (Nick, Sara and Christy).

Amanda attended the Utica Country School from kindergarten through 5th grade. It was a two-room building, with one teacher for all grades and all subjects. There were 17 students total.
On October 1, 1987, Amanda's parents bought a farm in rural Yankton County. There they raised pheasants, turkeys, ducks, chicken, and cattle. She rode the bus from the farm to school in Yankton (population 13,500). Amanda attended Lincoln Elementary School for 6th grade and Yankton Middle School for 7th and 8th grade.

Amanda attended Yankton Senior High School from 1991 until she graduated in 1995. She liked the following classes: Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry I & II, Intro to Computers, Drafting, Drawings and Pottery I & II. She did not like Biology, Speech and Grammar.

In 1994, she met Chris Maddox (her future husband). Amanda enrolled at the University of South Dakota, August 1995. Amanda married Chris Maddox, May 18, 1996, just one week after completing her first year of college. They had their first child Ariel Rose Maddox, April 8, 1996. Chris and Amanda bought their first home in Yankton and lived there from July 1996 to June 1999.

Amanda struggled her first two years in deciding a major. At first it was Chemistry, then Graphic Design. Then she took her first Computer Programming class and knew what she wanted to do. While taking her computer classes she had many part time jobs: Computer Science 150 Lab Monitor, Teaching Assistant, Computer Lab Monitor, Member of Team CSCI, and worked for the South Dakota Regents Information System. With the guidance of the Computer Science Department, she received a BS in Computer Science with a Math Minor from The University of South Dakota in May 2000.

The Maddox Family moved to Garland, TX after Amanda Graduated. She found employment with Maxim Group in August 2000. Maxim Group was a contracting company. They contracted her out to WorldCom / MCI as an intranet developer on Aug 23, 2000. TekSystems purchased Maxim Group in Spring 2002.

Chris and Amanda bought their second home, January 2, 2002. On April 7, 2002, they had their second child Jeremy Joe Maddox.

WorldCom filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 22, 2002. After surviving 2 1/2 years of layoffs, on February 28, 2003 her project with WorldCom / MCI ended.

Amanda found employment with Background Information Systems Background Information Systems as an Internet Developer on April 7, 2003. BIS was purchased by First Advantage in February 2004. FADV then renamed BIS to Safe Advantage Services (SAS). She was the webmaster of the following sites: On July 10, 2006, Chris and Amanda had their third child Annabelle Kay Maddox.

Once it was announced that the Dallas office was closing, Amanda left First Advantage.

On Dec 23, 2011 Amanda joined Fritz Industries as a web developer.

Amanda received her MBA from Corban University June 2013.
